As we reach the end of 2024, it\u2019s good to do a bit of reflection. This holiday season, I want to give you a boost of encouragement and a simple reminder as we all gear up for 2025.<\/em><\/p>\n

For me, the end of the year is always a bittersweet time.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s sweet because of the holidays, the time spent with loved ones and the hope that comes with all the potential of the new year. At the same time, it\u2019s easy to feel bad about the imperfections \u2013 about the missed goals, and the slip-ups both big and small (and \u201cbig\u201d by the way, is relative \u2013 it\u2019s usually not as bad as we think).<\/p>\n

I\u2019m sure you\u2019ve got plenty of your own thoughts going through your mind at this time. Which is why I want to share a motivational holiday message with you today, giving you some reminders and some encouragement as we all prepare to step into 2025.<\/p>\n

Think back to the beginning of 2024 and where you\u2019ve come since then.<\/p>\n

You came up with strategies to improve your processes; you worked hard to keep both your teams and clients happy while juggling different challenges and making the right priorities. You reached some goals and maybe fell short of a few others. What matters most is that you were in a state of continuous improvement.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As the months go by and as things get hectic, it\u2019s easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why I\u2019m inviting you to hit \u201cpause\u201d for just a moment now, and try to remember the reason behind all the choices you made and the things you accomplished (or didn\u2019t accomplish).<\/p>\n

Why<\/em> did you create those goals?<\/p>\n

Why<\/em> did you choose to go for those management initiatives?<\/p>\n

Why<\/em> did you commit to continually improve, rather than settle for \u201cgood enough\u201d? (That\u2019s not a rhetorical question, by the way.)<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

As we get bogged down in the details of daily and weekly tasks, it\u2019s easy to forget our \u201cwhy\u201d \u2013 and that\u2019s totally normal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In fact, I wouldn\u2019t even say it\u2019s a bad thing when we get distracted at times\u2026<\/p>\n

Just as long as we also come back full circle to our \u201cwhy\u201d at some point.<\/p>\n

Trust me, I\u2019m more easily distracted than just about anyone I know (just ask my husband, Hristo!). I can speak to the importance of staying focused and remembering your \u201cwhy\u201d because I know from experience how much harder it is when you don\u2019t<\/em> remember.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m a believer in keeping things simple.<\/p>\n

This new year, I invite you to do just one thing:<\/p>\n

Remember your \u201cwhy.\u201d<\/p>\n

When you keep things simple, you\u2019re taking a step back and making a clear, focused effort at improvement.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what continuous improvement looks like: one small, simple step at a time.<\/p>\n

Remember your \u201cwhy,\u201d and remember to honor it (and keep it simple!).<\/strong><\/p>\n

I wish you happy and productive new year!<\/p>\n
