An experienced coach can recognize patterns across teams, dependencies and decisions. The practical constraint is how much of the delivery system one person can follow closely enough, and early enough, to influence what happens next.

  • You can only hold part of the system in view.

    A few teams, metrics and meetings provide a sample of delivery rather than a view across the whole system.

  • Important decisions can move faster than your calendar.

    By the time a coach is involved, a commitment may already have been announced or a structure put in place.

  • Experience does not automatically become visible evidence.

    Recognizing a familiar delivery risk is different from showing leadership the trade-offs in the system.
