Evaluate how much work you deliver. Track your throughput trends. Assess how throughput rates build over time.
Throughput represents the number of tasks you’ve delivered on a specific day, week or month. The Throughput Run Chart for Trello displays the throughput of your team over the course of a specific time frame. The chart’s horizontal axis is your timeline, and the vertical axis plots your throughput. The bars consist of colored sections, each denoting a specific type of completed work.
Monitor your throughput on a weekly or bi-weekly basis in order to make sure you deliver work in a consistent and predictable manner.
The dotted green line plotted across the graph is your throughput trendline. The throughput trend line indicates how your throughput trends have developed over the selected time period.
If the trendline goes down, this indicates that your team has been struggling to deliver results. If that is the case, assess your work in progress. Reduce your WIP limits and direct the team’s attention on the problem areas in your workflow.
The ‘Throughput Breakdown’ widget above the graph is a handy tool that visualizes which request types are demanding the bulk of the time. Each colored section stands for the type of your tasks, alongside what percentage of the completed work it represents.
The ‘Throughput Breakdown’ widget could help you emphasize the high volume of expedite requests in your workflow.
The ‘Throughput’ widget calculates the amount of work that has been delivered within the selected time frame. With this tool, you can assess how your throughput rates have shifted over time. Ideally, the line should be even or increase smoothly.
Any decrease in the throughput line alerts for unspotted bottlenecks preventing your team from delivering consistently.
